# moddl > moddl edits IFC (BIM) models by language. It is a remote MCP server for AI assistants and a browser viewer for people, over one shared core. The AI never sees the file, only schemas, answers and effect reports; every change is re-measured, reported and can be undone through the revision chain. Status: not open yet. Until the beta start moddl.site shows the landing page only; viewer and MCP endpoint open with the beta start. - Website: https://moddl.site (English), https://moddl.site/de (German) - Viewer in the browser: https://moddl.site/viewer (sample model without an account; own models with a free account) - MCP endpoint (Streamable HTTP, OAuth): https://moddl.site/mcp - Contact: info@moddl.site ## What it does - Read and analyse: areas, quantities and lists across the whole model, per storey, type or room; every number carries its origin (file value or measured body) and its coverage. - Check and clean up: missing materials or properties, elements without a storey, property values that do not match the body. - Edit: properties and property sets, class, dimensions, placement, move, rotate, copy, delete, relations (storey, host, type). - Create: elements from a catalog of types, openings and fillings (doors, windows) in hosts, terrain. - Revisions: every write is a new revision; undo and restore any earlier state; export the changed .ifc. ## Formats - IFC4 and IFC4X3 (infrastructure, alignment, terrain). IFC2X3 is converted on upload in the viewer. - Units and origin are normalised on ingest; internally metres. ## Tools (contract moddl/1) get_model_summary, find_elements, get_element, list_properties, compute_quantities, check_model, check_contacts, get_selection, list_models, open_model, render_view, draw_section, set_properties, change_class, set_dimension, set_section, move_elements, move_storey, rotate_elements, scale_elements, extend_element, clip_elements, edit_mesh, create_elements, copy_elements, insert_in_host, set_relation, delete_elements, create_terrain, cut_terrain, cast_ray, set_project_origin, get_history, undo, restore_revision, export_ifc, run_script, get_guide. ## Use cases - BIM coordination: assign elements to storeys, find gaps before handover. - Architecture: variants, storey copies, area figures. - Engineering (structure, MEP): quantities and material sums per storey, missing data listed separately. - Construction: door and window schedules that match the model. - Infrastructure: IFC4X3 models and terrain.
